Missouri State University hosted the National Delta Tau Alpha convention this year and on Friday the group spent part of the day touring the Fruit Experiment Station. Delta Tau Alpha (DTA) is the Agriculture Honor Society. DTA promotes and recognizes scholarship and leadership accomplishments of agricultural students while emphasizing character development, enhancing undergraduate preparation for professional positions, and joining with other agricultural student’s organizations in the promotion of agriculture.
Professors and students from Missouri State University, Arkansas State University, Fort Hays State University, Tennessee Tech University, and Southeast Missouri State University were welcomed by Environmental Plant Science and Natural Resources Department Head, Dr. Hwang. Jennifer Morganthaler gave a short presentation on the Fruit Experiment Station. Randy, Tom, Shelia, and Jennifer then took the group on a tour of the greenhouses and discussed some of the current projects. Jeremey provided a tour of the winery and distillery where he explained how we make our wines and spirits and answered questions. Pam, Shelia and Tammy then assisted with sales of some of our available products. We concluded the afternoon with this fun group with a drawing for some prizes.
