Black Walnut Research Update – Soil Moisture Probes

The soil moisture probes were installed on Friday, April 20th. Four sets of probes were placed with each set having a probe at a depth of 12" and at 30". Black Walnut Harvest

The field crew started harvesting black walnuts for a research trial being conducted in cooperation with Hammons Black Walnut company in Stockton, Missouri. The nuts for each grafted variety are collected, hulled, bagged and labeled. Hammons Products Black Walnut Field Day

The field crew collects walnuts from the grafted varieties in the trial.

The field crew is harvesting black walnuts for a research trial directed by John Avery, Fruit Grower Advisor, in cooperation with Hammons Black Walnuts company in Stockton, Missouri.
