Missouri State staff are the backbone of the university. Each summer, we celebrate their efforts through Staff Appreciation Week.
Mark your calendars now as we celebrate Mo State staff with a host of events from June 15 through 19.
What to expect
Monday
A new event this year, Bears Supporting Bears will bring colleagues together for an evening of appreciation and community. The event will honor faculty and staff who have made a gift to Missouri State during the current fiscal year with a special recognition and photo opportunity.
All staff are invited to attend this family-friendly event to kick off Staff Appreciation Week from 4-6:30 p.m. at Old Glass Place.
University Advancement will sponsor these following complimentary items and activities for all attendees:
- Food from Mexican Villa
- Ice cream treats from Hiland Dairy
- Cotton candy
- Face painting
- Bear friendship bracelet making station
Tuesday
Show your Mo State pride and don your best Bear Wear. We’ll gather on the Plaster Stadium field for a longstanding tradition — the annual staff photo. Stay tuned for more details.
Wednesday
This year’s summer party is a midweek moment to slow down, catch up with colleagues and enjoy the afternoon. Courtesy of Staff Senate, enjoy treats from Chartwells from 1-3 p.m. in the Glass Hall atrium. Then step outside and cool off with a complimentary Pineapple Whip.
Thursday
Take a moment to recognize the Bears who show up for you every day. Share a shoutout for a colleague, a team or someone who deserves a little extra appreciation — just tag your post with #MoStateStaffShoutout and let them know they’re seen. Human Resources will spread the love throughout the day with special posts.
And to close out the week in style: President Richard B. Williams is sending everyone off early with a 3 p.m. release. Head into the long weekend knowing your work matters.
Friday
The university is closed for Juneteenth. Enjoy the day off and join the city’s fourth annual celebration.
Enjoy Staff Appreciation Week, Bears!
