Last day serving in Colorado! — Michaela Fisher

March 18, 2018 by Yawei Yang

Our last day serving at the Children’s hospital was so rewarding. My group took arts and crafts to the 4 outpatient clinic floors (emphasis in cardiac, neuropsychology, kidney, etc.). We made hippos and turkeys and the kids all did so well. Eventually we split up and took different floors. As soon as that happened it felt like it was nonstop until noon. I had to make three … [Read more...] about Last day serving in Colorado! — Michaela Fisher

Growing a Future of Sustainable Service

March 16, 2018 by Lane Borsa

“Hello this is Kate with Green Light New Orleans...” Hey, my name is Kate Weiser. I am a freshman at Missouri State and I chose to spend my Spring Break with Bear Breaks. My first Wednesday in New Orleans felt like I was already living like a local. Waking up, taking the early morning commute to Uptown, catching some coffee at Café Rue de la Course and heading to the … [Read more...] about Growing a Future of Sustainable Service

That store, Burnell’s, we would find out was the only store in the entire ward, and it would change our lives. The Lower Ninth Ward Market Burnell Cotlon introduced himself to us, and we quickly learned … [Read more...] about Burnell’s Story

We had a blast in Colorado!-Michaela Fisher

March 15, 2018 by Yawei Yang

Tuesday was extraordinary. We played with children all morning and the creative play room was completely full. The kiddos brought me so many smiles and gave me such inspiration. Even the children with medical conditions did not play any less hard or give up any easier. If anything, I watched them struggle to get up the slide stairs even harder. It’s so easy to get caught up in … [Read more...] about We had a blast in Colorado!-Michaela Fisher
