Experiencing Chicago a Second Time

March 17, 2019 by emy1998

Experiencing Chicago from a Different Perspective Firstly, I wanted to change my service place because I had been to Chicago once, and I’m eager to have a different experience in other places within America. However, my teacher told me it will be a different Chicago in your second time especially when you go there with a group of diverse people. The fact is, I’m so glad and … [Read more...] about Experiencing Chicago a Second Time

Serving with HOW

March 13, 2019 by emy1998

Housing Opportunities for Women Today we helped out around the office of Housing Opportunities for Women. This organization recently received donations of clothing from several organizations that we helped sort. These clothes went to women in need who utilize their program. I was surprised by how many people donated to Housing Opportunities for Women. I wish that in … [Read more...] about Serving with HOW

Chicago: Global Paths Converge

We have students from Kazakhstan, Egypt, China, Jordan, and the United States. Aside from the learning … [Read more...] about Chicago: Global Paths Converge

Chicago: Feel the Power

March 13, 2019 by emy1998

Feel the Power of Being Able to Help Others Today, we got up very early and went to one of the food distribution places. We sorted out food into bags and handed them to people in need. Each of their smiles was just like a rose, fire, and light which refreshed me, warmed me and lit me up. Their smile reminded me of a short story I had read before. A family lived a really … [Read more...] about Chicago: Feel the Power

Service Through a Different Lens

March 11, 2019 by emy1998

Crafting a Service Story As the videographer for the Chicago Bear Breaks trip, I’m viewing the majority of the trip from a completely different angle, which has provided me an opportunity to see the story of the trip unfold in a unique way. I expected to get great city skylines in the footage, and I’ve gotten a little of that, but what I also have seen is a group of diverse … [Read more...] about Service Through a Different Lens
