Brightspace is currently experiencing connection problems. Users may experience slowness or 500 errors at this time. We will continue to provide updates on the situation as they are available.
Starting September 2nd, newly created Missouri State login accounts will look a little different. Previously, new accounts ended in either “s” for student, or “e” for employee. However, as we re-imagine the account process, we will no longer create separate accounts for different roles at the university, so this distinction is being phased out.
At this time there are no changes to already existing accounts, but you will begin to see employees who have a Missouri State login account ending in “s” if they have a previous student account. Students may also have accounts ending in “e” if they are current or former employees. That should not be considered a marker of someone’s main role with the university moving forward.
New student and employee accounts will use a combination of initials and numbers followed by @missouristate.edu (e.g. abc123@missouristate.edu). New accounts will also not contain @login or @live as part of the Missouri State login account. The email address and Missouri State login account will match when accounts are initially created, though both students and employees are still eligible to request an email alias if desired.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we make these changes to streamline our process and improve the account experience for all our users. Questions or problems regarding this process should be submitted as a ticket for prompt assistance.
