It’s Friday! What better way to celebrate the weekend than with a #LeaderBear Spotlight! Our spotlight this week is none other than Sam Siebert!
Sam is senior Philosophy and Mass Media Production major and hopes to graduate this spring. Her top five strengths are: contentedness, adaptability, input, intellection, and context. Through her time at Missouri State University, Sam did not participate in programs through the Leadership Development Department, but that does not mean that she was not well plugged into to organizations on campus.
Sam has been a part of Student Activities Council as the Cultural Affairs Programming Chair and is currently President of SAC. Last spring, Sam was the Unaffiliated Points Chair for Greek Week Committee and a senator in Student Government Association. Over the summer, Sam got the awesome opportunity to welcome freshmen bears to Missouri State as a SOAR Leader. This fall, Sam is serving as one of the Team Competition Coordinators for the Homecoming Committee and the Chief Elections Commissioner for SGA.
Sam has spent so much time in the Plaster Student Union that she decided to work there as well. She was a Student Specialist in the Office of New Student and Family Programs and is also a Building Manager for PSU.
Sam left some quality advice for younger students…
A lot of people think there’s only one way to be successful at college, but not everyone’s Missouri State experience is going to look the same. It’s important to find what you’re personally interested in and to pursue that regardless of if everyone else if doing the same thing. Don’t worry about what other people are taking and getting involved in. You just do you!
