The Kansas City Bier Company is the second largest brewery in the Kansas City area, and KC’s largest locally-owned brewery.  Our mission is to produce authentic tasting German-style bier and serve it at the same level of freshness as if the consumer were drinking in a Munich Bierhalle.  We produce authentic flavor by importing 100% of our hops and malt from Germany and by following traditional German brewing methods.  Our bier is fresh because it is produced locally, and it is unpasteurized, unfiltered, and naturally carbonated.  We  distribute in bottles and kegs throughout Kansas and western Missouri through a network of 18 individual distributorships.

 

Position: A College Bier Ambassador will perform the following tasks

• Conduct bier samplings at “off-premise” accounts (i.e., liquor stores)
• Oversee events (i.e., tap invasions) at “on-premise” accounts (i.e., taverns)
• Pour bier at festivals
• Conduct bier dinners
• Call on key on-premise and off-premise accounts
  • Verify pricing standards
  • Verify merchandising standards
• Ride-along with distributors calling on retail accounts

 

Work Week: Part-time Position- 5 to 20 hours/week

 

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age and willingness to drink moderate amounts of bier
• Driver’s license with good driving record
• Car and insurance
• Own, or have access to, a personal computer
• Ability to lift 50-lb kegs
• Attend 3 to 5 days paid training in Kansas City, MO at the brewery

  • Beer Sales Training

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of beer, which may be evidenced by, but not required by:
  • Cicerone
  • MBAA Beer Steward
  • Beer Judge Certification Program
  • Brewing Experience
• Ability to speak in front of groups up to 50 people
• Selling experience helpful
• Familiarity with German language helpful

 

Pay: $15/hour w/ Mileage reimbursement

 

Internships: Kansas City Bier Company will consider including reasonable modifications to the College Bier Ambassador Program to qualify employee for college credit.
