International oboist to perform, offer master class

Dr. Kostis Hassiotis, an international oboist and professor, will be on campus Feb. 24-25 to perform in a guest artist recital and give a master class. Both events are free and open to the public. Speed dating on agenda for Nov. 6 opera performance

Dr. Ann Marie Daehn will debut Michael Ching’s "Speed Dating Tonight!” Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 8 at 2:30 p.m. in Ellis Recital Hall. Admission is $5, which can be paid in advance online. Recital series celebrates work of German poet

Dr. Carol Chapman is coordinating a two-day festival on Oct. 23 and 25 at Ellis Recital Hall to pay tribute to 19th century German poet Heinrich Heine. The event, called “Heinrich Heine: German Poetry in Music,” is part of the music department’s bi-annual recital series. St. Louis sophomore wins Fite piano competition

Hans Chan, a sophomore of St. Louis, brought home the top prize in Missouri State’s 19th Annual Fite Family Young Artist Piano Competition on April 18. The young pianist was awarded $1,000.
