At a reception at the Tower Club on 4 December 2011, Kathy Pulley was presented an Outstanding Alumni Citation by Abilene Christian University. After earning a bachelor’s degree at what was then Southwest Missouri State University, Kathy went on for an MA at ACU (in 1980), before completing her education with a PhD from Boston University, and then returning to Missouri State to teach in Religious Studies. The Citation was presented to Kathy by Jack Reese, the dean of Abilene Christian’s College of Biblical Studies and Graduate School of Theology. There were also brief remarks celebrating Kathy’s accomplishments by Jim Moyer, long-time department head in Religious Studies; Bruno Schmidt, former Vice President Academic Affairs at Missouri State (with whom Kathy worked for several years as Associate Vice President); and Micki Pulleyking, who is not only a senior instructor in Religious Studies at Missouri State, but also Kathy’s younger sister. Since just five alumni are picked for this citation each year, out of 86,000 graduates, this is very high honor for Kathy!
