We have been busy this summer moving our main offices from Strong Hall 251 to the north end of the hall, Strong Hall 282. In a way we are revisiting the past, as the Religious Studies office used to be located on the north end in these same offices – when Dr. Jim Moyer was department head and Mrs. Joanne Brown the administrative assistant.

After much commotion and rearranging, Dr. Steve Berkwitz, our department head, and I (Jane Terry, administrative assistant), are settled into our new offices. It also offered both of us a chance to take inventory of our supplies, books, and papers, and to simplify, reorganize, and refresh our offices for the coming academic year.

We also added two more photos to our “Wall of Fame” hallway next to the photo of our founder, Dr. Gerrit ten Zythoff: Dr. Jim Moyer for building our department and his service to so many students and faculty, and Dr. Kathy Pulley, the first female faculty member in Religious Studies and upper administration at MSU. We will have commemorative plaques made for these two pillars to match that of Dr. ten Zythoff’s.
