Over 70 posters from 15 countries will be on display at the “Diversity: Differences that Brighten the World” exhibition at the Carolla Arts Exhibition Center. The exhibit is available Oct. 6-Nov. 10 and open for First Friday Art Walk Oct. 6 and Nov. 3 from 6-9 p.m.
Consisting of socially conscious designs, the collection was inspired by an international call that asked the question: “What does Diversity mean to you?” The posters focus on the ability to embrace different cultures, belief systems and opposing points of view on a variety of subjects.
A panel of international designers juried (or selected) the exhibition from over 300 submissions from 32 countries. Members of the panel are: Chang Fang Pang / Taiwan; Dave Moon / USA; Donna Jackson / USA; John Beach / USA; Mykola Kovalenko / Slovakia, Ukraine; Oleg Veklenko / Ukraine; Parisa Tashakori / Iran, USA; Rafael Esquer / USA.
The exhibition was organized by Olga Severina of Poster Territory. The UCLA Extension assisted Poster Territory with organizing the international call.
The Carolla Arts Exhibition Center is located at 326 N. Boonville Ave, Springfield, Missouri. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Call 417-837-2330 for more information.
