Officially finished my first night train ride this morning and it was not something I would do regularly. We arrived in Lao Cai at 6:00 am and had a wonderful breakfast, it was my first time having crepes with a banana filling and chocolate drizzle! After breakfast we had another car ride up into the mountains to Sapa and walked through the market. They had all sorts of meats, veggies, clothes, and trinket items, I love that everything was handmade. After the market we traveled farther up into the mountains into a smaller village and had an amazing lunch! We visited Cat Cat Village which has been my favorite tour so far, we all rented a traditional ethnic outfit that was handmade to take pictures and develop an understanding of their culture. We also went inside a family’s house, watched a woman weave clothing, and experienced the beautiful land. After lunch I was able to experience going to the top of Fansipan, which is the highest point in Vietnam. It was my first time going up a mountain, let alone around 10,000 feet in the sky but it was amazing and I’m so thankful I had that opportunity! We are getting ready to head to dinner, but I sure am exhausted with walking almost 6 miles today!
