Today is the last day of our program and we are exploring Vientiane. This morning we started with Buddha Park, they had statues signifying Buddhism and Hinduism religions. Today is the last day in Phonsavan, Laos and we explored site one of the Plain of Jars. We were able to go inside the cave where bodies were cremated to be placed inside the jars. They use the cave as a memorial site and light incense to honor loved ones who have past. Today was day 1 at the Plain of Jars, we have another site to see tomorrow. The Plain of Jars is multiple sites of rock type formations that look like large jars, they have been there for over 2,500 years! No one is sure of the exact reason for these jars of various sizes or how they got to where they are now, but they are thought to be burial sites. It has been a long day of traveling to Phonsavan, Laos. We started the morning off with going to the president’s home in Luang Prabang, there was also a Buddha statue made from only gold. Then we walked up 300 plus stairs to see a spectacular view of the entire cities including the delta and river in Luang Prabang. We have officially left Vietnam and made it to Laos. Vietnam overall was a positive experience, we were able to experience a variety of activities and locations.
