Today is the day we went to Ha Long Bay, it was a very long drive. On our way to the bay we stopped by a souvenir shop that had threaded pictures made by disabled workers, they had beautiful artwork and clothes. On our way to the bay it started raining and continued to rain for awhile after we boarded the boat. Once we arrived in Ha Long we went to the local pearl farm where they demonstrated how to insert the pearl in the clam and take out the pearl. The pearls were beautiful and they used them in paintings as well. We then headed to the bay to board the boat, we even had a boat all to ourselves. The first stop was a natural cave and it was the biggest cave I’ve ever been in, we learned about the history and cultural aspects within the cave. Next was kayaking and that was absolutely beautiful, nothing like I’d ever seen before with the different rock formations. We then headed to the harbor, after the rain stopped the weather was warm but not too hot. This is our last night in Vietnam and I plan on visiting a few more vendors!

I had a lot of fun playing charade in the van today! Kayaking was so awesome! I’m so glad we went into those caves and explored a bit more.
