Chapter 3 we have learned how important it is to know and understand other countries culture and history. A countries history helps defines it “mission” and know where they stand in the world. In order to do any global business it is essential that you learn it’s cultural, which a lot comes from its history. It really caught my attention when they were talking about population. I feel like a lot of countries culture is to keep the family name going, have women stay at home, and have big families but that not the normalization anymore. This is something that could have a big effect on your company if you do not do the proper research. Learning about the population decline and aging of current workers is something I have not given any thought to. I know these issues have occurred in the U.S., but it isn’t something I worry about because I am so young. When it brought up immigration with this topic it really opened my eyes to how some countries need more people working to help the economy. It really makes you take a second look at how the U.S. handles immigration.

Rachel,
Interesting post indeed! It’s crazy learning and seeing all different types of cultures around the world. Learning a new culture is also fun in some ways. I know my first time at an authentic Chinese restaurant in Hong Kong was interesting. The culture there is family style eating habits. They usually order 3-4 different plates of food to share and eat as a group. I feel like this is a cool custom to live by and learn. I see most families in restaurants ordering huge massive plates for themselves (myself included). I also agree with your immigration stance. It’s weird learning more about our job economy with immigrants as we grow up.
