A digital badge is a visual representation of an accomplishment, achievement or skill acquisition, and badges are quickly emerging as a way for professionals to document ongoing development and accomplishments.
Through workshops with EDUCAUSE and the Mozilla Open Badge Initiative, Computer Services has developed a digital badge program in an effort to build and support achievements and professional development. Staff, faculty, and students have an opportunity to earn, accept, and display Computer Services digital badges as evidence of their completion of an event or specific training. Badge earners can choose to display their earned badges on professional profiles and social media, such as Linkedin, Facebook, and Twitter.
To see the badges available as part of the Computer Services Digital Badge Initiative, or to learn more about how digital badges are being used in professional development and higher education, see the Digital Badge Program article in Experts.
