The Missouri State University Film Series presents the Springfield premiere of the alumni produced documentary, Corporate, FM, on Oct. 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Plaster Student Union Theater. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Corporate, FM documents the fate of FM radio in an era pitting corporate profit against a local focus. Shot in Kansas City, Lawrence Kan., San Diego, New York, and Austin, Tex., the documentary stars Slacker, Jewel, and many others involved in both FM radio and the music scene. The film is directed by Kevin McKinney and produced by MSU alumna Jill McKeever. McKeever is a 2006 graduate of the Electronic Arts Program. Corporate, FM is a winner of “Best Heartland Documentary” at the 2012 Kansas City Film Festival.
A talk-back session with the filmmakers will follow the screening of the film. Admission is free and open to the public.
Parking is available in Lot 24 (access off of National Ave, one block south of Grand Street) or in the Bear Park North garage, located next to the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.
