Dr. Alex Hamwi, Assistant Professor of Marketing, received a trophy in the mail this week from the International Collegiate Sales Competition.   Based on two students’ success (Sam Bromley and W. Russell Wood) in the competition held in Florida, Missouri State University has been recognized by the organization as a Rising Star in its student sales competition program.  Congratulations to Hamwi, Dr. Allen Schaefer, Professor of Marketing, and the students on a job well done! The trophy is displayed in Glass Hall 436.

Dr. Barry Wisdom, Professor of Management, has received notice that his paper “Managerial Lessons From the Ground Up” has been accepted for the Fall 2013 (Vol. 12 No. 2) edition of the Journal of Business Administration Online.

Dr. Keri Tassin, Director of the Master of Accountancy Program, was recently notified that the School of Accountancy will receive a one-year grant for the Low Income Tax Clinic for calendar year 2014.  The amount of the grant will not be known until Congress finalizes appropriations.

Dr. Shannon McMurtrey, Senior Instructor of Computer Information Systems, has been appointed Director of our new Cybersecurity Graduate Program.  This is a new program that is just gearing up.  In addition to having a degree in Cybersecurity, there will also be a graduate certificate and a concentration in the MBA program.
