The competition requires students to plan all aspects of a project given a detailed problem statement provided by industry sponsors. In an 18-hour period, students had to schedule, estimate, run cost analysis, resolve several issues related to a construction project, and present a proposal for managing and constructing the project. Students were asked to prepare and present their proposal to a panel of judges comprised of representatives from all facets of the construction industry.
“Our students did a great job of executing the electrical estimating and scheduling scenario that was given to them. The competition was a great opportunity for our students to showcase their skills against other universities,” said specialty contracting coach Jacob Nelson.
The Missouri State University College of Business’ department of Technology and Construction Management has the largest construction management program in the state.
