Stephanie Bryant will be vice president of Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of BusinessStephanie Bryant

Dr. Stephanie Bryant, dean of Missouri State University’s College of Business, will step down from her position at the end of the fall 2017 semester following 6 1/2 years of service.

Bryant is joining the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) as the executive vice president and chief accreditation officer, effective Jan. 2, 2018.

About AACSB

Synonymous with the highest standards of excellence since 1916, AACSB provides quality assurance, business education intelligence, and professional development services to over 1,600 member organizations and more than 796 accredited business schools worldwide.

With its global headquarters in Tampa, Florida, and international offices in Amsterdam and Singapore, AACSB’s mission is to foster engagement, accelerate innovation and amplify impact in business education.

Bryant will lead accreditation-related services

In her new position, Bryant will provide vision, leadership, and oversight of AACSB’s accreditation-related services, including coordination of nearly 550 volunteers from business schools and business who play an essential role in helping schools achieve accreditation. She will serve on the leadership team of AACSB and act as spokesperson and advocate for the advancement of quality business and accounting education globally.

Bryant has advanced MSU’s College of Business

Under Bryant’s leadership, the College of Business has grown to become the 34th largest college of business in the U.S. among AACSB-accredited institutions – increasing by more than 890 students to an enrollment of over 5,500. Additionally, Bryant was a major force behind the idea, design and fundraising for the renovation and addition to Glass Hall, home of the College of Business.

“Dean Bryant’s vision and energy drove the growth and transformation of the College of Business,” noted President Clif Smart. “We wish her well as she moves on to her new position at AACSB.”

Bryant’s focus during her tenure has been to recruit the best and brightest students to study business at Missouri State, ensure a quality business education, and ensure students are primed for success in their professional careers immediately upon graduation.

Her involvement extends outside business college

As an avid Lady Bears basketball, volleyball and softball fan, Bryant became an asset to athletics in assisting in the recruitment of student athletes from all sports who were interested in studying business.

Bryant was active in community and civic endeavors, including serving locally and at the state level in Rotary International, the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, the Chamber of Commerce, the City of Springfield, Greene County and Biz417.

At Missouri State, Bryant served on the president’s Administrative Council and the university Strategic Planning Committee.

“I will dearly miss the students, faculty, athletes and coaches, MSU leadership team, friends, and community of Springfield,” said Bryant. “My years as a Bear will always have a special place in my heart.

“I have been privileged to be involved for many years as a volunteer with AACSB, so this seems like a natural progression of how to continue to be of service to the world of management education as a whole.  It is an honor to continue to live a life of service in a truly meaningful way.”
