Want to pursue an online accounting degree? Missouri State University is 30th on Edsmart’s list of Best Online Accounting Degree Programs. 

Edsmart is a nationally recognized publisher of college resources and independent rankings.  

They gathered and analyzed data from the National Center for Education Statistics, College Scorecard, Payscale and individual school websites to create these rankings. 

“These schools are some of the most widely renowned in the country, and their online programs are no less esteemed for quality, value and marketability,” Edsmart’s spokesperson said. 

How the ranking is determined 

Edsmart looked at affordability, student satisfaction, academic quality and student outcomes of online accounting programs across the country.  

The criteria for this ranking include: 

• Average net price. 

• Retention rate. 

• Graduation rate. 

• Payscale ROI. 

Missouri State stood out because of its Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accreditation, affordability and accelerated track offerings.

About the program  

Missouri State’s School of Accountancy is accredited by AACSB International, the premiere accrediting body for business programs. The program also holds the AACSB supplemental accreditation in accounting. 

Students who wish to complete seated or online programs in accounting can pursue the following degree options: 

• Accounting (BS). 

• Accounting minor. 

• Master of Accountancy – Accelerated. 

• Master of Accountancy – Online. 

• Master of Accountancy – Traditional.
