Missouri State business programs reaccredited by AACSB International

Both the business and accounting programs in the College of Business (COB) at Missouri State University have been reaccredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, which represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools.

With less than 6% of business schools globally achieving AACSB business accreditation and only 2% attaining supplemental AACSB accounting accreditation, COB is honored to earn this distinction and be among the elite business schools holding both business and accounting accreditation.

Accreditation is earned and maintained by meeting or exceeding AACSB’s rigorous standards which ensure high quality teaching, research and service aligned with the needs of students, employers and society.

“The AACSB Peer Review Team identified many strengths of our business and accounting programs, including our highly engaged faculty, committed staff, and enthusiastic and supportive alumni,” said Dr. David Meinert, Dean of the College of Business.

“Our efforts to engage with employers through advisory boards and ensure our curriculums are aligned with their expectations was also noted. They also highlighted the support students are receiving both in and outside the classroom as well as the College’s commitment to experiential learning, quality research, public affairs, and societal impact.”

Once accreditation is achieved, each institution participates in a five-year continuous improvement peer review to maintain high quality and extend its accreditation.

To achieve accounting accreditation, an institution must first earn AACSB business accreditation. Then, in addition to developing and implementing a mission-driven plan to satisfy the business accreditation quality standards, accounting accreditation requires the satisfaction of a supplemental set of standards specific to the discipline and profession of accounting.
