This fall, graduate student Lucee Keller began an initiative to create quality T-shirts to promote the McDonald Entrepreneurship (ENT) Lab in the College of Business.
Keller joined Missouri State University as a student in the department of merchandising and fashion design. She graduated summa cum laude in December 2022 and is currently enrolled in the accelerated MBA program. She is also a graduate assistant in the management department.
“This was honestly the best decision I could have ever made,” she said.
Her degree in fashion merchandising and product development has led to entrepreneurship opportunities in the fashion industry, including this T-shirt project. Through the ENT lab, Keller is making customized T-shirts for a variety of groups, including:
- The construction crew working on the Roy Blunt Hall renovation and expansion project– the crew recently completed excavation work at the base of Roy Blunt Hall, marking a significant milestone in the project. To celebrate, they chose to purchase custom-designed T-shirts from the lab.
- The School of Accountancy at Missouri State – The T-shirts will be used for the upcoming Institute of Management Accounting conference in Springfield.
What Keller accomplished
“During this project, I was able to share my knowledge and skills about designing and producing T-shirts. With the increasing number of students at the lab, it’s important to teach new students about informed clothing choices.” Keller said.
Project’s impact on Keller’s management career
Keller believes this experience will enhance her prospects of pursuing her dream of owning her own business, specifically a clothing boutique.
“This project has given me a sense that it’s OK to change how things are being done, especially when it allows for better leadership and a more organized product process,” Keller said.
