In recognition of her service, professional development and leadership, Missouri State University senior Katie Lenhardt, a member of the Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity, received the 2024 Collegian of the Year (for the Gateway region).
Lenhardt is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing research at MSU.
Reflecting the values of the fraternity
The Regional Collegian of the Year Award, bestowed upon members who exemplify the core values of Delta Sigma Pi, celebrates individuals who are dedicated to service, professional development and leadership.
“This co-ed fraternity is about building an open community committed to creating ethical leaders in business to make a better world surrounding business,” said Lenhardt, who is from Desloge, Missouri.
Academic excellence and mentorship
Lenhardt’s journey to becoming the Regional Collegian of the Year is also marked by her academic achievements and many extracurricular activities.
“Overall, the College of Business has given me the opportunity to connect with mentors and upcoming leaders in our world, and that’s not something you get everywhere. The college and the people here are inspiring,” Lenhardt said.
Leadership recognition and future endeavors
Receiving this award means a lot to Lenhardt. It acknowledges her leadership skills and the impact she has made within her fraternity and the college. She believes this recognition will also open doors for future opportunities.
“Employers will be able to see and ask about this award. It’ll be an honor to tell them my peers and Delta Sigma Pi leaders believe in me and my values,” Lenhardt said.
