The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Collegiate Chapter at Missouri State University received recognition at the FBLA National Leadership Conference (NLC) in Orlando in June.
The chapter secured an impressive eighth place win out of approximately 100 chapters. Faculty advisor Courtney Pham, senior instructor of marketing, was also recognized as the Outstanding Local Advisor for Missouri.
“I’m very proud of our students for securing a top award, and I’m honored to receive the Outstanding Local Advisor for Missouri award,” Pham said. “It’s a wonderful feeling to get to work with the students and other advisors, and to be associated with FBLA, the largest business career and technical student organization in the world.”
A platform for excellence
The FBLA NLC is considered the pinnacle of the FBLA member experience and a springboard to students’ future careers.
It offers valuable learning workshops and a platform for students to showcase their skills in over 70 competitive events, ranging from business ethics to financial analysis.
To qualify for the national stage, students must first excel at the state level, placing in the top four in their respective categories.
Supporting student success
Pham, who has been MSU’s chapter advisor since 2018, plays a crucial role in preparing students for the competitions.
“I support the students on the administrative side, such as registering them for events and providing study guides,” Pham said. “I also mentor them throughout their preparation journey.”
