Grand Street will be closed the week of December 18, 2023 for installation of a new sewer line from Karls Hall, across Grand and into Lot 22. The sidewalk between Art Annex and Craig Hall from the southern face of Karls Hall to Grand Street will be closed, along with the alley between Art Annex and Karls Hall. Pedestrians entering or exiting campus through the Underpass will need to use the sidewalk along South Carrington Ave. A temporary fire truck lane will be installed in Lot 22 for emergency use while Grand Street is closed. The City of Springfield will post a traffic plan indicating closure locations and detours on their website and social media.
