Funding for academic projects can be hard to come by these days. If you’re looking for an opportunity to fund a research project centered around teaching and learning, the FCTL invites you to submit a proposal for a Teaching and Learning Grant.
Teaching and Learning Grants are funds awarded by the FCTL to MSU faculty members who are seeking to advance teaching and learning practices at Missouri State University through involvement in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), which is a self-study of teaching and/or learning models and/or practices focused on understanding and supporting student success. Applicants can be awarded up to $3,000 for each grant.
The FCTL currently offers two separate grants–the FCTL Teaching and Learning Grant, and the FCTL Education Abroad Grant. The FCTL Teaching and Learning Grant is suited for any SoTL project, while the FCTL Education Abroad Grant is suited for projects specifically focused on the impact of international education abroad on student learning. To read specifics regarding each grant, visit the FCTL’s grants homepage and navigate to the grant you are interested in pursuing.
Typically, academic project grants come with a laundry list of hoops to jump through before one is eligible to submit a proposal. The FCTL has taken steps to make sure the process of applying for a Teaching and Learning Grant is smooth, simple, and time-efficient for busy educators who may not feel like they have the time to undertake a massive proposal process. The FCTL has developed fillable templates for both grants that outline exactly what information the FCTL needs about your project to consider it for a grant. The entire proposal will take only a few pages of writing about your idea, what you hope to accomplish, and how you plan to accomplish it–a quick and easy process that puts you on the track to acquiring the funds you need to pursue your academic inquiry and further the field of teaching and learning on campus and beyond.
If you have an academic inquiry that you need funding to pursue, the FCTL encourages you to submit a proposal for a grant.
