The best way to prevent seasonal flu is to get vaccinated every year. The flu vaccine available at the Taylor Health and Wellness Center covers the four most common strains of the influenza virus. Flu vaccinations can be received Monday through Friday 8am-4:15pm. No appointment is necessary. Please check in at the front desk before going back to Treatment to receive your flu vaccination. There is no cost for students, MSU employees, household members of employees, and retirees on MSU’s insurance. Retirees on Medicare will need to check if Taylor Health and Wellness Center is in network. Other individuals will have a $31.50 charge. The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses, and can cause mild to severe illness. Serious outcomes of flu infection can result in hospitalization or death.
