June is National Safety month.

June 1, 2022 by Deidre Mings

Accidents happen, and we have ways to keep you covered.

MSU strives to keep employees safe at work. Campus safety is available for you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 417-836-5509.  In the unlikely event you are injured on the job, we want you to know what to do. If you are injured on the job, you and your supervisor have responsibilities related to injury reporting. Even if you do not intend to file a workers compensation claim, incidents should be reported. For questions contact Denise Lofton, senior benefits specialist, 417-836-5892.

The university’s voluntary accident plan with Allstate offers benefits for both on and off-the-job accidents. The plan has 2 benefit level options and includes benefit options for dependent coverages. The accidental coverage can help cover expenses including expenses not covered by health insurance.

Enrollment/Changes can be made to the Accident plan, yearly during open enrollment (November 1st– December 1st), or within 31 days of a qualifying event.
