Wear Teal April 4

April 3, 2023 by Deidre Mings

22nd Anniversary of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center’s mission is to increase awareness about sexual violence worldwide and educate communities on how to prevent it. You can help raise support by participating in the SAAM day of Action, April 4, by wearing teal — the color of sexual violence prevention —  and post a selfie to Twitter or Instagram using #SAAM2023.

Employee Resources:

Effective, August 28, 2021, the University began providing employees (whether full-time or part-time) who themselves have been the victim of domestic or sexual violence, or who have a family or household member who has been the victim of domestic or sexual violence, with unpaid leave in accordance with the requirements of Mo. Rev. Stat. § 285.630. See policy 7.21 for further information.

Crisis support is also offered through our Mercy (EAP), which is free to University employees (both full and part time). To reach the EAP support line, call 800-413-8008 # 2.

Mental Health counseling is a covered service under both our Base and Buy-up Health plans, visit the Mercy provider directory to find a participating provider. Magers Health and wellness center has psychiatrist and Psychologist available for scheduled appointments as well, 417-836-4000.
