Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, was first celebrated on November 11, 1919, to commemorate the end of World War I. It was officially recognized as a federal holiday in 1938 and was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all American veterans, both living and deceased.

Enjoy free food and beverages before the MSU Bears football game vs. Northern Iowa. Sponsored by the MSU Staff Senate and will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Veteran Student Center tent.

Free service provided by the Missouri Veteran Commission to all military connected students, faculty and staff.
Service Officers are also available for any follow-up work necessary with the VA to obtain the maximum amount of earned benefits due to any eligible Veterans and/or dependents. VSO’s are thoroughly trained and knowledgeable in all areas of Veterans benefits, including service-connected compensation, non-service connected disability pension, education and training, vocational rehabilitation, burial, and survivor benefits. They will also assist claimants with health care eligibility, VA Home Loan Guaranty, and other Veterans benefits, including those offered by the state.
No appointment necessary. Just stop in.
