Meet the Samaritan Fund Program

Missouri State University is pleased to continue offering the Samaritan Fund Program, a voluntary resource designed to provide additional financial support to qualifying employees and dependents facing significant medical challenges or high-cost medications.

If you are identified as a potential candidate, a Samaritan Fund Program representative will work with you to explore an individual health insurance plan that you and your healthcare providers agree upon.

If approved, the program will also work to secure financial assistance from Samaritan Sponsors to help cover insurance premiums and medical care, with the goal of eliminating out-of-pocket costs for approved expenses.

There is no fee for University employees to explore the program.

The application process is confidential, and participation is completely voluntary.

To get started, complete the HIPAA authorization form. This allows a Samaritan Fund Program representative to contact you directly and determine whether the program may be an option for your situation.

The October 5 deadline is intended to guarantee sufficient time for the Samaritan Fund Program team to review your information before University Open Enrollment begins.

Because changes to your University group health plan election generally can only be made during a qualifying life event or the annual Open Enrollment period, starting the process early is important.
