Election Day Is November 3: Review Your Voting Leave Benefit

November 2, 2026 by Deidre Mings

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026. As you make plans to vote, take a moment to review Mo State’s voting leave benefit and explore the University’s resources to help you prepare.

Review Your Voting Leave Benefit

Under University Policy G7.02-7, Leave Benefits, eligible full-time employees who are eligible to vote in a Missouri local, state, or national election will normally be able to vote before or after work.

If you do not have three consecutive hours between the opening and closing of the polls when you are not scheduled to work, you may be excused from work with pay for up to three consecutive hours to vote.

If you need voting leave, you must make arrangements with your supervisor before Election Day. The University may specify which three-hour period you may be absent to vote.

Review University Policy G7.02-7, Section 7.12: Voting Leave for the complete policy.

Prepare Before Election Day

A little preparation can help make voting easier. Before heading to the polls:

  • Confirm your voter registration and make sure you are registered in the appropriate jurisdiction.
  • Review your sample ballot to learn which candidates and issues will appear on your ballot.
  • Check identification requirements and bring an accepted form of voter identification.
  • Confirm your polling location and hours with your local election authority.
  • Plan ahead to account for your work schedule and travel time.

Visit Mo State’s Paws to the Polls website for voter information and resources to help you prepare.

Make Your Plan to Vote

Missouri polls are scheduled to be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Plan ahead, confirm your voting arrangements, and speak with your supervisor in advance if you need to use the University’s voting leave benefit.
