Missouri Main Street Connection is Seeking Intern for Summer 2019
Missouri Main Street Connection (MMSC) is a not-for-profit 501c3 organization committed to provide training and mentoring for communities in Missouri that want to revitalize their downtowns. Our training uses the Main Street Four-Point Approach®, which is a comprehensive, preservation-based method designed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. We provide training to participating communities on-site and through workshops.
We also provide training and networking opportunities during our annual statewide downtown revitalization conference—“Get Plugged In…Downtown.”
We are seeking an individual to provide assistance and support in all aspects in the preparation and implementation of our annual conference, “Get Plugged In…Downtown” held this year, July 24-26, in St. Louis, MO.
This person would:
- work in our Branson office beginning in May until August;
- work 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, daytime and some evening hours;
- provide own transportation and lodging;
- receive a bi-weekly stipend of $400;
- accompany us to St. Louis, MO the week of July 21st for pre-conference work and the 2019 annual conference (all expenses paid by MMSC).
Successful candidates for this internship will have completed Sophomore-level status or higher toward a BS degree in one of the following:
- Hospitality
- Tourism & Travel
- Marketing
- Public Relations
- Planning
- Entrepreneurship
Candidates should also possess the following skills:
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel)
- Proficiency in office equipment
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to work both independently and in a team environment
