On November 8th, 2022, after being on a two-year hiatus due to COVID, the College of Business (COB), resumed its annual fall scholarship banquet to honor business students’ achievements.

This year, the COB awarded a record number of 272 scholarships amounting to a total of more than $435,000 for 230 students. Out of the 272 scholarships, 40 of them were received by our Marketing Department students, 23 of those scholarships were given by COB, and 17 were given by the Marketing Department. Below are listed the scholarships and their recipients.

Dr. Ismet Anitsal, Marketing Department Head, states “I am so proud of the accomplishments of our students” adding, “I am very confident that they are well equipped to soar in the next chapter in their professional lives—congratulations to them all.”

When taking a further look at these students’ achievements, we asked the faculty on the Marketing Scholarship Committee–Dr. LinDa Li, Dr. Josh Coleman, and Ms. Courtney Pham – if they would like to share any thoughts on behalf of the award recipients.

Dr. Li, stated, “Congratulations and festivities! You folks truly merit it, and have made the COB family proud.”

Dr. Coleman commented, “It is a privilege to be able to teach and work with students of such high caliber! It is always so exciting each year to hear these students’ stories, and to know that it is not just their grades which are being impacted by our efforts in [the] Marketing Department at the College of Business but their families and lives as well.”

Chair of the committee, Ms. Courtney Pham, shared, “These students had the motivation to apply and many students took the time to write successful narratives[s] about themselves. Their essays helped the Marketing Scholarship Committee to get to know them better and served as a base to help us with our selection since each department in COB only has so many slots to award the students. I must rely on what I know about them in the classroom, but also what they would like to share with the committee outside of the classroom.”

On behalf of the Marketing Scholarship Committee and the Marketing Department, we’re all beyond proud of our Marketing students, and applaud them for all their outstanding achievements. These students’ dedication and hard work ultimately rewarded them with amazing scholarships to aid in furthering their education here at Missouri State University.

In addition, Ms. Courtney Pham, added, “I encourage every student to research more about the scholarship opportunities we offer at the COB and departmental levels and APPLY for them.”

Here at Missouri State University, we strive to give our students an amazing and accessible educational experience. By applying to the COB and departmental scholarships, these students are allowing themselves to be better known by the Missouri State community outside of just the classroom, helping grow their connections and network; a key component to building success.

Congratulations to all our Marketing students on their scholarship award achievements. The Marketing Department and College of Business here at Missouri State University wish all the Marketing students the very best and a wonderful learning experience as they continue to pursue their education.
