Department of Art and Design presents two student exhibitions

From March until the first weeks of April, the Department of Art and Design is hosting two different student exhibitions.

The All School Exhibition is on view at the Cabot Gallery and Brick City galleries, located in the Brick City complex. Cabot Gallery hours for this event are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Brick City Gallery will be open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The exhibition runs from Feb. 27-April 5. Brick City galleries will also be open during Springfield’s First Friday Art Walk April 3, 6-9 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Annual Juried Student Exhibition is on view at the Carolla Arts Exhibition Center. Carolla Center hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Carolla will be closed April 3-5.

The Annual Juried Student exhibition runs from March 6-April 10.

Spring 2024 BFA in Design Exhibition on view April 29-May 10

The BFA in Design: Professional Design Practicum exhibition is now on view at the Carolla Arts Exhibition Center April 29-May 10 and for First Friday Art Walk May 3, 6-9 p.m.

The exhibit features the works portfolios and client-based projects of seniors in the Department of Art and Design’s BFA in Design program.

Many students will display supplemental materials in their exhibits, including business card takeaways, portfolio materials and tangible products such as branded t-shirts and mugs.

Students in the BFA design program are required to work with clients to demonstrate their mastery of design concepts and skills developed throughout their years of coursework.

The students work with a variety of businesses and organizations, from local internal projects for Missouri State to industries around the globe.

Intergenerational Exhibition on display at Cabot Gallery

The Intergenerational Exhibition, inspired by a gerontology class on intergenerational art expression, can be viewed at Missouri State University’s Cabot Gallery July 5-August 4 and during the August 4 First Friday Art Walk from 6-8 p.m.
