Call for musicians for “April at the Amphitheatre” concert series

Musician applications are now being accepted for a new concert series, “April at the Amphitheatre,” located at the John Goodman Amphitheatre (JGA) in the Judith Enyeart Reynolds Arts Park of Missouri State University.

Sponsored by JGA and the Reynolds College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, the series will feature selected artists each Wednesday in April during the lunch hour.

Graphic of brown bag with instrumentsThe concert series is open to local artists from the Ozarks. Those selected will be awarded a $300 honorarium.

Each performance will last 40-45 minutes and is free and open to the public.

All performances are scheduled 12:15-1 p.m.

Open call for 2024 Tent Theatre auditions now in progress

Calling all actors! The non-equity open call for the 2024 Tent Theatre season is underway.

Open call submissions are being accepted by video only. Performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, abilities and ages, are encouraged to audition.

The submission deadline is Feb. 2, 2024.

2024 season features three new productions

Fans of Tent Theatre can look forward to new productions this 2024 season, all performed in the John Goodman Amphitheatre.

Starting the lineup will be “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical,” which will run June 6-8 and 10-15. The second show scheduled for the 2024 season is “Crimes of the Heart,” running June 21-22 and 24-29. The season will conclude with “Mystic Pizza,” which will run July 5-6 and 8-13.

Fall 2023 theatre season opens with “Shakespeare in Love”

The theatre and dance department at Missouri State University begins the 2023-24 theatre season on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. with “Shakespeare in Love.”

The department is buzzing with excitement and preparation in a new venue.
