Four acts lined up for annual “Brown Bag” concert series at JGA

For its third season, Missouri State University’s “Brown Bag Concert Series” continues to enliven April lunchtime with its lineup of talented performers.

Held once again at the John Goodman Amphitheatre (JGA), the event is free and open to the public. The amphitheater is located immediately north of Craig Hall in the Judith Enyeart Reynolds Arts Park.

All performances start at noon. Public parking will be available starting at 11 a.m. across Grand Street in Parking Lots 22 and 24.

“Bring your lunch, relax and enjoy some great music,” said Mark Templeton, executive director of marketing and external relations for JGA.

Call for musicians for third annual “April at the Amphitheatre” concert series

The “April at the Amphitheatre” brown bag music series is once again calling for musician applications.

Now in its third year, the series is open to artists from across the Ozarks. “Solo and group artists are welcome to apply. We are looking for a broad range of styles,” said Mark Templeton, executive director of John Goodman Amphitheatre (JGA) marketing and external relations.

Selected artists will receive a $300 honorarium.

During the month of April, artists perform on Wednesdays during the lunch hour for approximately 45 minutes.

All performances and are free and open to the public.

JGA and the Reynolds College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities sponsor the event.

Brown Bag Concert Series launches second season April 9

Missouri State University’s “Brown Bag Concert Series” is back for its second season, boasting a diverse lineup of creative performances.

This year’s performances include country, indie-pop, folk and opera. Performers were selected through an application process.

Hosted once again at the John Goodman Amphitheatre (JGA), the event series is free and open to the public. The amphitheater is located immediately north of Craig Hall in the Judith Enyeart Reynolds Arts Park.

“We are thrilled with the increase in applicants for this special spring campus event,” said Mark Templeton, Executive Director of JGA Marketing and External Relations. “Bring your lunch and have a relaxing time while enjoying some great performances.”

Cori Jay will headline the inaugural session of the John Goodman Amphitheatre (JGA) brown bag concert series, “April at the Amphitheatre,” from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Wed. April 3.

The event series is free and open to the public.

Bring your lunch on over to JGA (just north of Craig Hall in the Judith Enyeart Reynolds Arts Park) and join us for an hour of entertainment. Public parking will be available starting at 11 a.m. across Grand Street in Parking Lots 22 & 24.

Sponsored by the Reynolds College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, with media support provided by KSMU, the concert series features artists from throughout the Ozarks.

A different artist will perform at JGA each Wednesday in April during the lunch hour.

This year’s performers were selected through an application process.

April 3 – Cori Jay

Cori Jay is a local singer/songwriter who brings a funky-folky-bluesy-pop-rock feel to the stage. She plays a mix of original music and cover songs with her soul-filled flair.
