The wait and anticipation is over.

On Oct. 30, Missouri State University hosted a dedication ceremony for the completed John Goodman Amphitheatre in the Judith Enyeart Reynolds Arts Park on campus.

The ceremony included a special performance and reception for donors and Tent Theatre alumni. Named after him,

joined in the celebration.

“To be able to finally unveil this impressive facility to our generous donors and supporters was indeed a momentous occasion,” said Brent Dunn, Missouri State University Foundation executive director. “They believed in our vision and helped us make it come true.”

Thank you to donors

The 7,700-square-foot open-air amphitheatre is surrounded by the arts park. It includes a permanent stage, tiers for 350 removable seats and high-tech sound and lighting.

The project was made possible by private gifts from donors, such as Goodman and Tim Reynolds and Judith Enyeart Reynolds. The Reynolds met and graduated from MSU. Judith also worked in the English department from 1966 until her retirement in 1994.

Other donors include:

  • The Sunderland Foundation.
  • The Estate of Victoria S. Williams/Stagehouse sponsor.
  • Monte and Valerie Kuklenski.
  • Tina and Mark Stillwell/Grand Entrance sponsor.
  • David and Donna Henderson.
  • Billy and Carolin Hixon/Fan sponsor.
  • The Penny Family Charitable Fund/Fan sponsor.
  • Linda and Doug Roller/Fan sponsor.
  • Randy Russell in memory of Sandy Russell/Fan sponsor.
  • Stan and Ethel Curbow.
  • Greg and Judy McManus.
  • Maggie Wilcox.

Many others also made gifts to sponsor seats.
