On Thursday, December 17th starting at 5:00 p.m., Computer Services will be performing a software upgrade to the Blackboard Learning Management System. This upgrade process is expected to be completed by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18th. During this period of time, the system will be unavailable for use.
On Saturday, December 19th, Computer Services will be performing networking infrastructure and information system software upgrades from 12:01 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. During this time the University network and many information systems, to include but not limited to, the My Missouri State portal, Internet access to include wireless services, etc., will have interruptions of service. The University phone systems are not expected to experience any outages.
These interruptions of services are necessary because network and computer infrastructures, operating systems, and software applications must be updated periodically to provide optimal services and improve information security capabilities. Departments and users are encouraged to plan accordingly and to not depend on uninterrupted services during this time period.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Pat Day at PatDay@MissouriState.edu or 836-6555.
