This week, nine students in the MSU chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals will attend the National Collegiate Conference in St. Louis. This event is designed for collegiate chapters to participate in competitions, network and visit with IT hiring organizations.
After attending and co-hosting the 2010 conference in St. Louis, the Missouri State University AITP chapter is especially excited to bring the event back to Missouri. “We are honored to serve as co-hosts again,” says AITP faculty advisor Michelle Hulett. Other co-hosts are Eastern Illinois University, Missouri Western State University and Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. More than 600 IT students from across the country are expected to attend.
MSU AITP students will help the participants get to know St. Louis. They have developed a Picture Scavenger Hunt that will send students in search of historical landmarks and, with hope, create new bonds. Because networking is an essential skill for professionals, the participants will need to partner with someone they’ve previously not met in order to win the grand prize for the Picture Scavenger Hunt.
Good luck MSU AITP!
