
Following a national search, Dr. Ismet Anitsal will be joining the Missouri State College of Business as the Head of the Marketing Department effective July 2019. Dr. Anıtsal is currently a tenured full professor of Marketing, and Faye Halfacre Moore Professor of Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at Tennessee Tech University. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in both marketing and entrepreneurship at Tennessee Tech for almost 15 years.
Anıtsal’s appointment was confirmed by the Board of Governors at the February 22, meeting.

Dr. Anıtsal holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He earned his B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from İstanbul Technical University in Turkey and his M.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, from Boğaziçi University in Turkey. He attended the University of West Georgia to earn a M.B.A. with an emphasis in Marketing.
Anıtsal has published more than 90-refereed papers in major scholarly journals and conference proceedings. He collaborated with researchers from multiple disciplines, as well as students. In addition, he co-authored an article that is ranked in the top 12 articles published in the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice in the last 10 years, in terms of citations.
He is similarly active in service. He is a Past President of the Atlantic Marketing Association. He has served as an editor/section editor of several marketing/entrepreneurship journals, and has been on the editorial review board for a number of peer-reviewed journals.
Anıtsal holds 44 research, teaching and service awards from Tennessee Tech University, Tennessee Board of Regents, and multiple professional organizations. He is also the recipient of 38 fellowship, scholarship and travel awards.
Prior to his academic career, Anıtsal worked in the manufacturing, commercial banking, and retailing industries in different capacities from sales associate to CEO levels. He has also been on the board of directors for several professional and nonprofit organizations.
