Six College of Business Faculty Recognized Via Endowed Appointments

Please take a moment to congratulate the following COB faculty whose outstanding contributions in teaching, research, and service led to them being selected for an endowed chair or professorship.     

  • Dr. Dan Goering, Associate Professor and Robert W. and Charlotte K. Bitter Endowed Chair
  • Dr. Jamie Grigsby, Associate Professor and David D. Glass Professor
  • Dr. Megan Ramsey, Associate Professor and  Kenneth E. Meyer Professor
  • Dr. Tim Flannery, Associate Professor and Daisy Portenier Loucks Professor
  • Dr. Rajeev Kaula, Professor and Daisy Portenier Loucks Professor
  • Dr. Carol Miller, Distinguished Professor and Daisy Portenier Loucks Professor

A brief bio for each of these outstanding faculty can be found below:

Dr. Dan Goering, Associate Professor of Management, was recently appointed as the Dr. Robert W. and Charlotte K. Bitter Endowed Chair. Dr. Goering received his PhD in Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management from the University of Iowa. He joined Missouri State University in 2018; since that time, he has published (or has in press) eight peer reviewed journal articles, six of which appeared in “A* or A” journals. His research has also appeared in Harvard Business Review, which is also recognized as an “A” publication. Four of his publications appeared in the Financial Times Top [FT50] academic and practitioner journal list, which exemplifies the most-elite level of business and management research. Dr. Goering’s research has appeared in prestigious journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business and Psychology, Journal of Business Venturing Insights, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Personnel Psychology.

 

Dr. Jamie Grigsby, Associate Professor of Marketing, was recently appointed as the inaugural David D. Glass Professor. Dr. Grigsby received her PhD in Business Administration (Marketing) from Kent State. She joined Missouri State University in 2019, previously serving on the faculty at Midwestern State University. Since joining COB, she has published eleven peer reviewed articles, eight of which appeared in “A” journals. Dr. Grigsby’s research has appeared in numerous preeminent marketing journals, including International Journal of Market Research, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Behavior, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Marketing Letters, and Psychology & Marketing.

 

 

Dr. Megan Ramsey, Associate Professor of Finance, was recently appointed as the Kenneth E. Meyer Professor. Dr. Ramsey received her PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She joined Missouri State University in 2020; since that time, she has published seven peer reviewed articles, six of which appeared in “A* or A” journals. Dr. Ramsey’s research has appeared in widely recognized finance journals, including Finance Research Letters, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, and Journal of Managerial Finance.

 

 

Dr. Tim Flannery, Associate Professor Economics, was recently appointed as a Daisy Portenier Loucks Professor. Dr. Flannery received his PhD from the University of Arizona and previously was a member of the economics faculty at Eastern Connecticut State University. Dr. Flannery joined Missouri State University in 2016; since that time, he has published in seven peer reviewed journals, two of which appeared in “A” journals and three in “B” journals. Dr. Flannery’s research has appeared in a wide variety of journals, including Journal of Behavioral & Experimental Economics, Journal of the Economics of Business, Mathematical Social Sciences, Review of Behavioral Economics, and Review of Economic Design.

 

Dr. Rajeev Kaula, Professor of Information Technology, was recently appointed as a Daisy Portenier Loucks Professor. Dr. Kaula received his PhD from State University of New York at Binghamton. Since joining Missouri State University in 1990, Dr. Kaula has published 59 peer reviewed articles and eight specialized textbooks. Dr. Kaula’s research has appeared in business, computer science, and data science journals, including International Journal of Business Intelligence and Systems Engineering, International Journal of Data Mining, Modeling and Management, International Journal of Database Management Systems, Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Technology, Journal of Spatio-Temporal Data Science, and Journal of Computer Information Systems.

 

 

Dr. Carol Miller, Distinguished Professor of Business Law, was recently appointed as a Daisy Portenier Loucks Professor. Dr. Miller received her Juris Doctorate in Law from the University of Missouri as well as an MBA from the University of Missouri. Since joining Missouri State University in 1984, Dr. Miller has published 50 articles primarily in law-related journals and reviews, several of which are highly rated in the legal profession. In recent years, her research has focused on environmental law. Dr. Miller’s research has appeared in numerous publications, including: Cardozo Journal for Equal Rights and Social Justice, Environmental Law Reporter, Journal of Insurance, Risk and Public Risk Management, Journal of Legal Studies in Business, Natural Resources & Environment Journal, Real Estate Law Journal, University of Oregon Journal of Environmental Law & Litigation, Vermont Journal of Environmental Law, Virginia Environmental Law Journal, and William and Mary Environmental Law and Policy Review.
