Winter Intercession Grades Available
January 21
The Winter 2015 Intersession Grade Report should be available on My Missouri State as of today. Earned grades are reported but are not accumulated into student totals (hours attempted, passed, points, and GPA) until the conclusion of the Spring 2015 semester when all grades are posted.
Refund Deadline – 75%
January 23
The last day to change sections, drop, or withdraw from spring 2015 first block and full semester classes, with 75% refund.
Refund Deadline – First Block 50%
January 30
The last day to change sections, drop, or withdraw from spring 2015 first block classes, with 50% refund.
Haven
Haven is a required online course for all in-coming freshmen and transfer students to complete to initiate understanding of consent, sexual assault, relationship violence, and bystander intervention. If this course is not completed by the student prior to the student’s spring registration date within the student’s first year at Missouri State University, a Registration Hold will be placed on the student’s account. This hold will be lifted from the account once completion of Haven has occurred.

- Always sign in at: my.missouristate.edu
- After signing in, go under the Academics tab and find the New Student or Transfer Student section. Within this square, there is a training section and the Haven link is in this area. To access Haven, choose the link and you can begin.

Resume Madness

Résumé Madness is a 5 hour event held each semester at various locations around campus.
Students can bring a hard copy of their résumé and visit with a member of the Career Center staff to receive a quick review and some tips on résumés.
No appointment necessary. Note, this is a ‘quick’ review. If a student needs more assistance, the Career Center offers walk-in hours or an individual appointment can be scheduled by calling our office at 417-836-5636.

Shattering the Silences: Giving Voice
Tuesday, January 27 at 1pm, PSU 313 (Parliamentary Room)
Under the direction of Dr. Carol J. Maples, the Giving Voice troupe uses an engaging approach to address the many facets of cultural competence and bring diversity training to a whole new level. This workshop will use a performance forum to address issues of oppression, including microaggressions. Courageous conversations help audiences move from challenges to strategies.
This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Carol J. Maples is an Associate Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance and Director of Giving Voice, a nationally recognized interactive theatre troupe that addresses various issues of diversity, oppression and microaggressions. Giving Voice has presented forums for high schools, universities, national conferences and international companies. Dr. Maples has trained at the Mandala Center for Change and facilitates Giving Voice forums to helpbegin the courageous conversations needed to improve daily lives in educational, business and community settings.

Springfield Spring Break Immersion Trip
Come experience Springfield by immersing yourself in service projects with multiple area nonprofits. Engage with the community and see a side of Springfield you do not usually see as a Student at Missouri State. Service opportunities may include building accessibility trails at the Boy Scout Camp, working with at risk youth, and other organizations that promote a healthy community for generations to come. Participants will stay at the ARC of Springfield and have a fun filled day the Discovery Center as well. (Sponsored by The United Way of the Ozarks)

- SHARP Sessions will be held in the FRC again this semester! Three sessions will be sponsored by the Missouri State University Department of Safety and Transportation as well as by Campus Recreation Wellness. The classes are free so register for one of the following sessions! All sessions are from 6:30-9p.m.

- Face your Fear with this year’s Swim Lessons. We will offer three levels of swim lessons this spring. Fear of Water Lessons – Monday and Wednesday, 5:30-6PM. Beginner Swimming Lessons – Monday and Wednesday, 6:15-6:45PM. Intermediate Swimming Lessons – Monday and Wednesday, 7-7:30PM. Classes run from February 2-March 4 (no class on 2/16). $40 for members, $50 for nonmembers.
