Qualifying life change
Each year, employees can change their benefits during open enrollment, which occurs from Nov. 1-Dec. 1.
Wellness incentives
You can also save an additional $30 discount per month to your health care premium costs by participating in two of three designated wellness incentives.
2025-26 plan rates
Missouri State pays a large portion of health insurance premiums for employees. In the employee only base plan, the university covers 93% of the cost of the insurance premium.
Preventative services
Preventive health care services are covered at 100% under the Missouri State medical plan when services are provided by a network provider.

Our Employee Assistance Program is another component of university benefits. All full-time and part-time employees and members of their household are eligible to use the EAP.

Professional development and wellness
Employees have a $150 non-credit fee waiver which can be used to pay for university-offered, non-credit classes and programs. Employee wellness offers several free classes and programs for employees and memberships to Foster Recreation Center are available to purchase.
In West Plains, employees have access to the West Plains Student Recreation Center and the Civic Center aquatics and fitness center at no cost.
