Deliver more impactful performance reviews with a new LinkedIn Learning path in My Learning Connection.

As Missouri State University supervisors move through the current performance review cycle, now is an excellent time to strengthen the skills that make performance reviews more effective, meaningful, and productive for both supervisors and employees.

Organizational and Talent Development has launched a self-directed learning path in My Learning Connection designed specifically to support supervisors during the performance management process:

Delivering a Performance Review: A Guide for Managers

Powered by LinkedIn Learning, this curated learning path provides practical strategies to help supervisors prepare for, conduct, and follow up on performance reviews with confidence and professionalism.

The learning path explores key topics such as:

  • Preparing for performance review meetings
  • Delivering constructive feedback
  • Coaching employees for growth and accountability
  • Setting SMART goals and performance expectations
  • Navigating challenging discussions
  • Building stronger, high-performing teams

The content is organized into focused learning segments that supervisors can complete at their own pace while immediately applying concepts during the current review cycle.

Performance reviews are more than an annual process—they are an opportunity to strengthen communication, clarify expectations, recognize accomplishments, and support employee development. Thoughtful and effective reviews help build trust and contribute to a culture of accountability and continuous improvement across the university.

This learning path aligns with the Lead Others track within the MSU LEAD ON supervisor development framework and supports core leadership competencies related to communication, coaching, and performance management.
