Financial well-being is an important part of overall wellness. Whether you are saving for retirement, working toward homeownership, managing debt or planning for your financial future, Missouri State University offers resources to help.

๐Ÿ“š Learn More About Retirement planning

MO Deferred Comp offers free educational webinars for employees at every stage of their careers. Topics include budgeting and saving, retirement income, investing, market volatility, Roth contributions and preparing for retirement.

Jesse Stewart is the MO Deferred Comp representative for the Springfield campus and is available as a local resource for employees interested in learning more about the plan and its educational opportunities.

Full-time and part-time employees can participate in the University’s 403(b) and 457(b) retirement savings options, providing opportunities to save for retirement through payroll contributions.

๐Ÿก Financial Wellness Beyond Retirement

Financial wellness can include planning for major financial goals and managing everyday financial decisions. Employee Wellness’ Financial Health program offers free educational opportunities on topics such as:

  • Homebuying 101
  • Mortgage Refi & HELOC Basics

These sessions can help employees better understand homebuying, financing, credit, mortgage options and other important financial considerations. Visit the Financial Health page for upcoming sessions and registration information.

๐Ÿงพ EAP Financial Assist

Your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) also includes Financial Assist, providing full and Part-time employees and members of their household with access to financial support services at no additional cost.

Financial consultants can help with a variety of financial concerns, including:

  • Budgeting and debt management
  • Credit card debt
  • Buying a home for the first time
  • Retirement planning
  • College funding
  • Major life event planning
  • Bankruptcy counseling
  • Foreclosure prevention
  • Identity theft prevention

Employees begin with an intake with a financial consultant. When additional assistance is appropriate, the consultant can connect the employee with a qualified financial counselor for a more detailed consultation.
