Job Description: In this new part-time position, the Marketing Coordinator will establish and help guide a vision for promoting and increasing awareness of Career Center services. This includes developing and managing a brand identity and guidelines, within the overall Missouri State University brand. The Marketing Coordinator will oversee the Career Center’s communication efforts including web and social media presence as well as digital and print media.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the Career Center marketing team (including student workers) in the development and implementation of a holistic Career Center brand
- Manage all Department social media platforms including monitoring engagement, creating opportunities to increase engagement, and promoting services and events
- Collaborate with Career Center staff to develop and implement marketing strategies for events, services, and promotion of external stakeholders
- Coordinate the development of all print and digital marketing materials including advertisements, blogs, career development resources, flyers, and other Department promotional items
- Create or oversee creation of digital content including but not limited to videos and photos to promote Department services and events
- Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, journalism, or closely related field
- Academic experience such as a minor or certificate in graphic design, film/videography preferred
- Coursework in technical or professional writing preferred
- Previous work experience in marketing, promotions, advertising and/or related field
- Knowledge of current marketing practices and trends including:
- Promotions and advertising
- Print and digital media
- Social media
- Use of photography and videography
- Audience analysis
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and meet deadlines, and work independently
- Knowledge of search engine optimization and digital marketing tools such as Google AdWords preferred
- Introductory-level design skills for producing marketing materials, including familiarity with design programs such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud, preferred
Job Location:
- Flexible; hybrid remote/in-person on Springfield campus
- 20 hours a week; Part-time (no leave/insurance benefits)
Compensation: $19 per hour
