On behalf of the Marketing Department, we would like to congratulate our three most recent graduates and reflect on their time here at Missouri State University.
Tony Jaquez received his undergraduate degree in Marketing Management in May of 2022. He then continued his education here at MSU and was admitted into the MBA program. For Tony’s last semester here at MSU he took the role of becoming the Marketing Departments Evaluations graduate assistant. In this role Tony was happy to assist in the operations of several classes. As of May 19th, 2023, Tony has graduated with his MBA and a certificate in Marketing Analytics. Tony shared, “I enjoyed the opportunities afforded to me by my excellent professors. I especially appreciated the chance to work with real businesses to solve significant issues they were facing. I have grown so much during my time at Missouri State University, and I feel fortunate to have spent my time here.” Tony has accepted a job in St. Louis, MO as a content writer for Fly Page – a digital based marketing agency.
Khalid Kalbiyev received his master’s degree in project management on May 19th, 2023. For a while, Khalid worked in the Marketing Department as the Time Sheet and Student Organization GA (Graduate Assistant). In this role, Khalid was responsible for preparing and organizing all graduate assistants’ weekly and monthly timesheets. He was responsible for communicating with university leaders to plan activities. In doing that, Khalid said he gained effective communication skills and formed lasting relationships. Khalid shared with us, “I have learned so much from my professors which I worked for them as GA, and their mentorship and guidance will continue to have a significant impact on my future academic and professional endeavors.” Looking forward, Khalid will be working as a Project Engineer – EI&C for Wacker Chemical Company. In this role, Khalid will, develop project scope, collaborate on cost estimation, manage changes, coordinate contractors and suppliers, monitor progress, ensure regulatory compliance, and compile comprehensive documentation role such as this, he will be responsible for the development of project scope and execution approach for Electrical, Instrumentation & Control engineering along with many other tasks.
Valentina Hurtado Uribe joined her master’s program here at MSU back in Fall of 2021. During her first semester at MSU she was offered a Graduate Assistantship here in the Marketing Department and has served as a Research Specialist ever since. In this position Valentina was given the opportunity to expand her knowledge in academic research. She said it was challenging at first due to a lack of experience, but the position has been rewarding and encouraged her to dive deeper into academic research. Valentina was recently rewarded by the IGBR (Institute for Global Business Research) this year. Valentina shared with us, “My favorite part of working as a GA was challenging myself without ever giving up. This position led me to discover skills in myself that I did not even know I possessed. It has been an excellent first step in my professional career with a focus on higher education. I will miss working for the department, collaborating with faculty, and with the other GAs (Graduate Assistants) and student workers.” Upon Graduating, Valentina has plans to work as a project manager, and seek the opportunity of pursuing her Ph.D. in Marketing.
Department Head of Marketing, Dr. Ismet Anitsal says, “It is with great pleasure that we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our hardworking Graduate Assistants who graduated this May. Your remarkable dedication and tireless efforts in supporting our department and assisting faculty have been appreciated, and we are truly grateful for your invaluable contributions to our academic community. As you embark on the next phase of your journey, we have no doubt that you will continue to soar and achieve great success in all your future endeavors. Congratulations once again, and we wish you all the very best!”
Again, we would like to congratulate Tony, Khalid, and Valentina on this amazing accomplishment! We are proud of your hard work, and nothing has gone unnoticed. You three will be missed in the Marketing Department, and we wish you the best of luck.
